Nodal Centre conducted the following programmes

27-10-2010 A Mock Fire Drill conducted at Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. Er.V.Vimal Prakash, Nodal Officer, SQF, IEI, Er.K.A.Sasisdharan, Director (Retd.) Directorate of Factories and Boilers and Er.P.M.C.Nair, DGM (Safety), HLL Lifecare Limited conducted the drill.

27-11-2010 An Electrical Safety Seminar was arranged at St.Joseph’s High School, Trivandrum which was inaugurated by Er.V.Vimal Prakash, Nodal Officer, SQF. Er.P.M.C.Nair, Er.J.Umasankar, Honorary Secretary, Er.M.S.Beegom Sabunnisah, Dy.Electrical Inspector, conducted the classes.

22-12-2010 Electrical Safety Classes was held for Electrical Wiremen and Supervisors which was inaugurated by Er.V.Vimal Prakash, Nodal Officer, SQF. Classes were conducted by Er.P.M.C.Nair, DGM Er.J.Umasankar, Honorary Secretary, Er.M.S.Beegom Sabunissah, Dy.Electrical Inspector and Er.R.K.Subramanian, Dy.Electrical Inspector.

Er.J.Umasankar conducted safety classes for KSEB Officials at Venjaramood.

Safety Display Board – Prepared by SQF and HLL Life Care Ltd were distributed to Govt. High Schools in Trivandrum. 5 Display Boards and one fire extinguisher were also given to IEI KSC

Technical Activities

Every Wednesday technical presentations on various engineering topics were made by eminent engineers, doctors, scientists and experts in Management. All these programmes were co-sponsored by other professional bodies like IEEE, Aeronautical Society of India, Computer Society of India, Systems Society of India, IETE, Project Management Institute, Kerala Chapter INSARM and ISTE Kerala Section. We take this opportunity to thank all these sister professional institutions and the speakers for their contributions for the successful conduct of these events.

On 05-05-2010 World Water Resources Day celebrated. Er.T.T.Kripananda Singh, Former CE, Irrigation Department, Govt of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram delivered the lecture on the theme “Clean Water for a Health World”.

National Technology Day 2010

On 12-05-2010 National Technology Day celebrated in association with Swadeshi Science Movement. Prof.M.N.Sreedharan Nair, Former Principal, NSS College delivered a lecture on the topic “Technology Advancement and India”.

On 14-10-2010 World Standards Day, theme “Standards Make the World Accessible For All”. Organized by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Thiruvananthapuram in association with the Institution of Engineers (India), Kerala State Centre and National Institution of Quality and Reliability (NIQR), Thiruvanathapuram Branch. Shri.Manoj Joshi, IAS, Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), Government of Kerala inaugurated the celebration.

World Car Free Day and National Cycle Day

On 22-9-2010 World Car Free Day and National Cycle Day celebrated. Shri.Jose Thettayil, Hon’ble Minister for Transport Government of Kerala inaugurated the Rally. Dr.Ajith Prabhu, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Govt of Kerala delivered a technical talk on “World Car Free Day and Its Significance in the Present Scenario”.

Sesquicentennial Birthday Celebration of Sir.M. Visvesvaraya

On 20-10-2010 Sesquicentennial Birthday of Sir.M. Visvesvaraya celebrated. Shri.M.Vijayakumar Honourable Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Kerala presided over the function and unveiled the bust of Sir.M.Visvesvaraya in the IEI premises, since Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri.V.S.Achyuthanandan could not attend the function due to ill health. IEI Kerala State Centre. During this function IEI Kerala State Centre thanked IEI Karnataka State Centre Chairman Dr. Murali Mohan Reddy for attending the function and donating the bust free of cost.
